Let me begin with my first point of discussion i.e. why you should join a coaching institute for your jee preparation.  To perform your best in JEE, you need to have a deeper understanding of Physics Chemistry, and Mathematics. These conceptual subjects require experiential learning. Guided learning from experienced mentors is very important here. Our schooling system fails in the application of the conceptual learning part. 

NCERT tells you what of the concepts but fails to teach you why and how of concepts. A JEE expert teachers have their own style of teaching concept. A typical JEE classroom teaching begins with the why of concepts (thus creating curiosity) then what of the concept which is followed by where to apply the learned concept. 
This application of the concept is very- very important. A proper coaching institute provides you very well graded collections of practice problems.

So far so good, What about the pure online JEE coaching vs offline classes. In online classes, you will get content and information in a very well presented form. These video lectures will show you almost all details of the concepts but fail in the handhold you and upgrade your problem-solving ability. And the most negative part of it, that is these well-presented videos will ruin your thought-process.
So I will say a big no to online video content, especially for serious JEE preparation. You can use them as entertainment.

Now coming to the final point of discussion, i.e. how to decide/ choose the best coaching for your JEE preparation. 
Good coaching fundamentally means coaching with good teachers. Teachers that will be teaching you is more important than anything else. So while searching for the best coaching classes search for the coaching institute with the most experienced teachers. FIITJEE remains always on top of this list, because of the great pool of experienced teachers and a peer group of good students will be added there.
 With good students you will have tougher competitions, so choose the institutes with more quality students over the others.
An additional support system like study materials/ package, test environment, periodical tests, mock jee test, etc are a must-have in a good coaching system. 
You should never go for AIR 01 rankers institute. Remember, AIR01 do not come because of the institute, it is because of student else same institute will grab AIR01 year after year.

So, my priority order is A well-experienced teacher > Institute with better students > Additional support system.

IIT Delhi Launches IITPAL Portal
